Why do we celebrate birthdays Fun?

Apart from the obvious answer to why we celebrate fun birthdays ... have you ever stopped to think about this centuries-old tradition?

Birthdays way back in history to a time when people originally feared evil spirits. These evil spirits were thought to be more active in the day of your birth. Family and friends gathered in a circle around the birthday person and would sing songs and bring them nothing but good thoughts. The giving of gifts was another to bring even more joy and good will to ward off evil spirits.

Noisemakers was also thought to have been used in these parts as another way to scare off evil spirits. Torches or candles would think that would send a prayer to the gods, and when the candles were out it was thought that the smoke carried the prayers or wishes in the sky, where they thought the gods lived, so that would be granted.

Looking back in recorded history have recorded only the birthdays of kings and nobles of other dignitaries. The poorest people, especially children did not celebrate at all. Historians have explained this, as only nobility was wealthy enough to afford such an extravagance as a party.

And 'the Germans have given credit for starting to celebrate the birthdays of children. These celebrations were originally called "Kinderfest" which means children's festival.

A song called "Good Morning To You," written by Mildred and Patti in 1893 was almost completely neglected until someone changed the words to "Happy Birthday To You". This song is still sung in nearly every little house somewhere in the world at least once a year.

In today's society, fun birthdays are eagerly awaited by young and older generations. It 's a celebration that has become an occasion not only enjoyed by family members, but friends as well.

Today, the shares tend to have a related theme. They may follow the lines of a character in the story, the comic or cartoon character for children, a picnic in the park or just a trip to the zoo.

Birthday gifts for the boy or the girl is still a tradition. However, in recent years has also been a tradition to give a small gift known as party favors to each guest as they leave the party. They are generally comprised of a little 'sweetness and a small gift wrapped in a bag or container that theme may have been used for the party itself.

So the next time it's your birthday, you'll know why your's celebrate!
